Acetato
We like to make things complicated... and we are actually quite good at it.
The latest acetate collection from MAD In Italy represents a new milestone for the brand.
We’ve replaced the laquering, traditionally used to fill the engravings in the fronts, with ultra-thin acetate components, inserted with surgical precision, colorful layers that make our product truly unique.
They are so thin that, to create them, we sacrificed our own eyesight to give it to you.
The procedure is simple, but only in words.
So. Each frame is milled to create tiny engravings, into which, later, acetate components of various shapes and sizes are inserted and glued. Once put in place, the frame gets milled once again as a whole to confer the inlay a clean and precise shape.
It’s a complex process that merges craftsmanship and innovation into one remarkable result.
